About Me
After graduating with my MS in Marine Biology from University of Alaska Fairbanks, I got a job in another lab on campus as a Research Professional (fancy term for lab tech) looking at mercury in otariids (sea lions, seals). My undergraduate degree was in Biology from Oregon State University where I gained invaluable experience in both the lab and field side of marine research. Most of the work I have done has focused on the marine intertidal species in the Pacific Northwest. In 2018 I participated in an internship with the South African Shark Conservancy. It was a whole new world with new species, new people, and new oceans. I have since done an internship in Hillsboro, Oregon in a water quality lab where I even started work on tracking COVID-19 in our sewers.
